From the Record Patriot of 1924: The Congregational Church as called Rev. L. B. Hardy as its pastor. Rev. Hardy comes from Eaton Rapids where he has been for the past few years. He filled the local pulpit two weeks ago and will arrive with his family this week to begin his work.
From the Record Patriot of 1949: 25 years ago: To welcome the new pastor of the Congregational Church, Rev. L. B. Hardy, and family, a supper and reception were held Tuesday night at the church. About one hundred were present. John Woodward acted as toastmaster. The address of welcome was given by E. J. Parker, Rev. Hardy responding in a pleasing manner. The toastmaster then called upon the following who responded with short talks: E. Lobb, Mrs. Lawrence Abbott, H. Crosby, R. H. Reynolds, Mrs. Cutliff, L. Hilton, J. B. Trowbridge, Mrs. Classens, E. Ericksen and Mrs. Penfold.
